This initiative requires:
Your attendance at an after-school training session (paid) before receiving the iPad
Your use of the iPad to work toward our agreed-upon goals
Your attendance at meetings with me during plan times to discuss how things are going
Your willingness to share your experiences with others in the school and district, including at a Technology Showcase during a Faculty Meeting.
Completion of a post-pilot survey to provide feedback on successes and challenges
Goals of this pilot program:
To expedite the creation of videos by math teachers
To increase the use of the flipped classroom model
To enable math teachers to spend more class time working individually and in small groups with students
To enable math teachers to spend more class time meeting the needs of individual students (differentiating)
To enable students to demonstrate their knowledge in new and engaging ways
To enable students to share with others their knowledge of math concepts
To create a learning community within the math classrooms where teachers and students are sharing and learning from each other
To allow students to share model Problem of the Month solutions with other students

Using Apple TV with your iPad Using AirPlay, you can connect your iPad to your classroom projector. Here are directions:
Sketchpad Explorer - free; allows you to drag, manipulate and animate visual mathematics
Geometry Pad - free; create geometric shapes, manipulate and explore their properties
Doodle Buddy - free; import your own backgrounds to use for Math explanations
Khan Academy - free; allows you to watch videos but no ability to manage students (Coach); Also available:iTunes - lots of videos available including Pre-Algebra (Florida Dept of Education);
